I haven't got a link, but this morning I was watching BBC2 and they reported a story about how David Cameron was caught without a ticket when he tried to leave the tube station on his way to see Morrissey. The host went on to talk about how it was strange to hear about David Cameron going to a Morrissey show, considering "Margaret on the guillotine".

'Dave' Cameron at a Moz show in 2006?!!! (Score:0)
Incredible! He's gone down on record to say how much he liked The Smiths and the Queen Is Dead but the thought of the leader of the Concervative party going to a live solo Morrissey concert in 2006 is just ... well ... words fail me!!!

If only Moz had played Glamorous Glue at Wembley....

David Cameron standing there, punching the air, singing "We won't vote Convervative, because we never have!"

Have you noticed that Cameron sometimes has a slight quiff in his hair? If he started wearing gold lame shirts, aquired a sense on homour and put a shopping basket on the front of his bike I might even consider voting for the twit.

Tory/ Labour/ Conservative - Makes no different in the UK these days. All the working-class politics have been blended into the other parties. There is no class in the UK anymore - according to the politicians. What is the MOST deceiving thing in the UK politics these days is that they are trying to mould people into one - multicultural Britain - but it will never work.

Cameron is a smug-faced bandwagon-jumping twat - he is loathsome. I can't understand how a Conservative can like Morrissey - maybe he's just trying to be cool...

Despite his famously sunny disposition, young Dave Cameron's tastes in music are decidedly glum: perky Mancunian popster Morrissey was, after all, among the Tory leader's Desert Island faves. So staff at Sanctuary records were not over-surprised to receive a last-gasp call from Dave's office last week, inquiring politely, if rather insistently, whether there might not be a ticket to be had for Friday night's Wembley gig. The tickets were duly forthcoming - but not, we're told, before a most unhappy Mozza, whose love of the Conservative party is well documented in such melodious serenades as Margaret on the Guillotine, had let it be known that a fate worse than the chop awaited anyone who allowed his most loyal fan anywhere near backstage. A missed opportunity, wouldn't you say?

    from the daily torygraph:

Ticketless Cameron fast talks his way out of a fine

"I don't routinely break the law," the Tory leader told the man on duty at the station on Friday night when he realised that he didn't have a ticket to get him through the barriers. "I can assure you that I did buy one."

Cameron was en route to Wembley Arena to attend a concert by Morrissey, the singer known for such ditties as Shoplifters of the World Unite and Margaret on the Guillotine, a serenade to an earlier Tory leader. He told the Tube employee that he had cycled to Willesden Junction and bought a ticket to Wembley but mislaid it during the journey.

The employee was not at first impressed. "Surely in your line of work you would have the money to buy a second ticket," he scolded him. That is when Cameron turned on the charm. "Yes, I can, but there's not much job security in my line of work, you know."

Cameron added that his wife, Samantha, had let him go to the concert as a treat while she attended an office Christmas party.
