Just had this email sent to me regarding the filming at Salford Lads Club this Friday:

Hey There,

I am really sorry to tell you this but the Culture Show bosses have had to postpone the shoot on Friday for the Morrissey Living Icons segment. It’s basically because the budget at this point cant stretch to the big cross-country trip we were planning to illustrate Morrissey as well as the other icons who have made the top ten.

I have been amazed and touched by the passion and dedication you guys have shown me and with this in mind I am pretty sure he will make the top 3. Then I am sure we will be in touch.

Please spread the word via the wonders of internet and email to anyone I may have overlooked.

Once again I am really sorry about this.

Kind regards,

Marcus

Director

--- Update: 11/06 18:31 GMT: Filming will likely take place on Friday the 10th, not the 9th.

Some of you may have seen Russell Brand championing Morrissey as Britain's greatest living icon on BBC 2's 'The Culture Show'. Morrisey has made the top ten. And broadcaster Jeremy Vine will be championing him to get voted into the top three.

I am hoping to film this Friday at Salford Lad's Club to illustrate the iconic nature of Morrisey. I was wondering if any local Smiths/Morrissey fans would like to turn up and appear in the film that would be great. If you model a Morrissey inspired look then thats all the better, but not essential. I promise it won't be cheesey.

Also, what Smiths and / or Morrisey track would you use to soundtrack Morrisey as one of Britain's great living icons? I cant use 'Heaven Knows Im Miserable Now' or 'This Charming Man'?

Moz solo: Jack The Ripper, Speedway, perhaps First Of The Gang To Die or Life Is A Pigsty

To soundtrack Morrissey as one of Britain's great living icons you should use There is The Light and Everyday is like Sunday (preferably live version with the audience singing, like Move 2004 or something.)

Not original, but shows the significance and people's love.

      Good luck to you!

Why don't I believe you. Expect to hear such genius phrases and original insights as "pope of mope" "box-room rebel" "king of misery" etc etc accompanied by footage of some bequiffed and slightly sociopathic Moz apostles reminiscing about how they lost their virginity in the back of a Ford Cortina while listening to These Things Take Time.
