25th Anniversary of Mr. Shankly's death

Frankly, one for the trivia fans.

Today, 29th September, is 25th anniversary of Bill Shankly's death - the man whose name is cheekily referred to in "Frankly, Mr Shankly". Glasgow evening newspaper "Evening Times" (imaginative title, there, I'm sure you'll agree) has a quite collection of Shankly's famous phrases.

There's also an article about the Highland Cattle Show in Glasgow. Yes, it's a slow news day.

A shame they didn't include more stuff from the other Shankly family members talking about Bill ... But well, as long he's not forgotten, he's not really dead, is it?

Spurious links to Smith Songs (Score:0)
No offence, but do we need stories about somebody who died 35 years ago and who had the same name as a character in a Smiths song?

If the song had been about a Liverpool player, then maybe, but as was said before there is no connection.
