You gotta love ol' Bozzaroo! (even though he hasn't answered my question yet *shakes fist*)

However... I'm wondering about him not saying anything about non-Moz gigs he's doing... he's playing some gigs with The Polecats in October and November.

He still doesn't say anything about Morrissey (Score:0)
Morrissey remains a secret. Boz does not say anything personal about Morrissey. What does Morrissey do after the concerts? What does he eat? Has he got a personal minder at all times? Who chooses the setlist? Who drives him around? Does Morrissey have egg & chips? Can he stay in a hotel where meat is eaten? What books does he read when he is on is own? Does he listen to music? Has he got an iPod?
These are all the things we NEED to know.

    Q. What is the songwriting process like with Morrissey? Is it: 1. You meet with him with a tape of riffs, ideas. 2. He skims through them and decides what he likes. 3. He then writes lyrics. 4. You try to fit your music to his lyrics. Or, is it literally more of a collaboration, just you two sitting in a room and hammering it out? Will he tell you what kind of sound he's looking for in a song, i.e. early 70's Bowie/Mick Ronson sound? Would you always have to make a case for him to choose your songs over Alain's?
    Thanks, Manny

    A. No, Moz writes to a backing track recorded by the writer - best song wins!"

I really think that it will benefit Morrissey and Boz, Alain and Jesse if they actually had "face-to-face" collabroations. The idea of the backing tracks aren't that bad but it should not be done that often.

Morrissey and the band could bring out the best of each other if they could have a face-to-face writing partnership.

if this is Boz's thing, I'm afraid of how the next record will sound.

The song is very poorly played - just dross, really.

The band show little or no finesse.

Looking at his description of a 'crowded sound' from which he subtracted certain parts, it all makes perfect sense.

Great bands like radiohead work for hours on each song, perfecting it live before laying it down on record.

The lads just put a bunch of stuff down, then fiddle with it until it sounds passable.

Yeah well if they ever want to release another relevant record, this should change.

I thought the Quarry producer Jerry Finn had changed all this - but alas no, back into bad habits.

Any real music afficionado can tell instantly that those songs were not played live - because they don't sound coherent, or spacey.

Bob Dylan just released a fantastic album and he's pushing 70. What's Morrissey's excuse? He's skating on little more than hype.

and yes, whoever said you can tell it's business-like between moz and the boys is very correct i think. it really doesn't take a lot of reading between the lines to detect that moz and boz's relationship is entirely focussed on the business of making music/money and boz does nothing to suggest there is a genuine sense of camaraderie and affection between the band members. maybe amongst the rest and excluding moz, but certainly not as a whole. if there was, wouldnt boz be quick to point this out and show us all how contrary to popular opinion he and moz DO have some sort of pleasant relationship? moz can't leave their company quick enough after a gig, can he?!?

                      2. I love Radiohead. Thom Yorke is dreamy.

                      3. I like Quarry, ROTT is crap.
