Stefan Krix posted this about a month or so ago. the cd's were released Sept.13 in Japan. They look like the original vinyls first released in Japan. .x.

    Who wants them anyway? (Score:0)
The Japs are always releasing these "mini" CD albums. Sex Pistols, etc, the lot. All it is is a 5" CD in a replica record-sleeve. And it's normally in a thin plastic case - not in an ordinary CD album jewel case - which is very irritating.

    Are they remastered? (Score:0)
If they're not then they're about as useful as coasters.

If they are to a decent level then I'm definitely interested.

These will fit perfectly in my 700+ collection of Smiths/Moz-releases. I say: Who WOULDN'T want the original records in japanese LP replica sleeves???
And after checking numerous websites I think I can safely say that the cheapest place to buy them all is at www.cduniverse.com - ESPECIALLY if you live in Europe. Forget eil & the other insanely expensive sites...

I got Louder Than Bombs yesterday, and it is a significant upgrade in sound from the original Sire cd. It is smoother, clearer, and louder. And the sound itself hasn't been messed with as far as eq is concerned. The high end is a lot clearer.
That said, I think these are probably not the remasters that will WEA will reissue next year (or whenever) in Europe. I think they have the potential to sound even better. But I am going to try another title (perhaps strangeways) and and see how it sounds.
Packaging is true to the vinyl releases.
One more thing. The vinyl still sounds 100x better.
