An anonymous person writes:
did you see Morrissey on C4 last week pre-V talking to that blond presenter, the thin one with the exaggerated northern accent, I digress. When asked why he does not fit in with the Pop industry Moz calmly pointed out that he simply doesn't exist on the same plane as them,

"I just exist on a different plane, not a higher plane just a different one". You were willing him to just come out and reel through all the artists on the bill declaring NO, NO, NO, Oh dear lord No, anyway he went on "I mean everyone (in pop) really does look and sound the same to me". Yes she replied agreeing like a monkey with one eye on the auto cue, before turning to meet the camera. "Now were off to the Kaiser Chie... I mean Kasabian" you could almost hear Morrissey's wry smile travel throught the camera. Poetic and Delightful. Channel fours crashing bores.

Very interesting that he picks out the Kaiser Chiefs of all possible pop artists.
The Kaiser Chiefsī "Employment" is produced by Stephen Street. No, I do not own it. But when I first listened to "Everyday I love you less and less" I somehow liked it. I didnīt know why, I just knew it was a witty and smart text brought to life with a good tune and then I found out that Stephen Street produced it. Itīs not really my musical taste and Iīm too old for this band.
But for a moment I wondered if I might NOT be a morrissey fan, but a stephen street fan instead.

However, I like to think that Moz maybe still somehow observes Mr. Streetīs work. I like to think that Moz maybe wants the best producer for his next album to make sure it will be a good one.
      Just suggestion, maybe incidence,
      but what if not?

Stephen Street is so unbelievably talented, I would love him to produce my records. Moz, bring back Stephen Street.

      Am I ranting nowī?
      Certainly!

im sure paul w had a dig at moz earlier in the show

Memoirs of a "retiree"... (Score:1, Offtopic)
Who was actually always a retiree. I don't know about once upon a time, but if Moz was a celebrity in the Pop Music Industry nowadays, I'd probably never even known he'd ever existed. Allegely snobish and/because old/odd fashioned, sometimes I'm not in the popular sections even of libraries. Some time ago, I found a book from 1919, which I only realized it was that old once I got home (it was the subject that attracted me). I opened it at the cafeteria, and heads began to turn and stare a this book. It was then that I realized I was committing something with that yellow thick dusty volume that disturbed a lady enough to come closer to read that "attractive repulsiveness". But whatever is "odd" sells and attracts because the odd is also exotic, authentic, breathing from a life of its own, since it is no longer massively produced: Morrissey began to be Morrissey because of this unburried exoticism that was sparkled by a volume of Oscar Wilde his mother brought him (from the library, I assume).

Morrissey and Siouxsie had an argument about the promo pics/video for Interlude. Apparently (info from the techies at the studio) Morrissey wanted to use "nationalistic" images for the video/photo promos of Interlude (a bulldog, among other things) but Siouxsie objected. Anyway, upon S.'s comments, Morrissey disappeared and let other people handle everything, refusing to contact her, or even doing the duet together (both voices were separately recorded). S. of course got pretty pissed at the whole "procedure".

Moz is rumoured to hold a grudge against her since then, not so much for the images itself, but rather for spoiling the occasion - remembering Timi Yuro with one of the most poignant duets two indie-icons have made. Siouxsie of course didn't spare him nor expletives to make her point - which surely didn't fail to upset Moz even more.

                            The video then never happened...

Black-eyed Susan is supposed to be Morrissey's "revenge" where he blames her for talking loud, but acting nothing.

Oh well. Morrissey and Siouxsie are too similar and too different.

At least, on vinyl they "sparkled like wine". And it's such a dear single.
