Walliams completes Channel swim - This is London

Excerpt:

Little Britain star David Walliams has completed his cross-Channel swim

The comedian spent 10 hours and 34 minutes in cold water to complete the swim - which he hopes will raise more than £500,000 for Sport Relief.

...The star said he had entertained himself through the gruelling swim by thinking of pop songs.

He said: "I was thinking about lots of Pet Shop Boys songs, Morrissey song and Abba songs, it helped to calm me down.

I bet he was thinking:
"Lifeguard Sleeping Girl Drowning."
"I'm The End Of The Family Line"
Soothing...

      Honestly... (Score:1)
I was in the emergency room last night, where I had to hold still while a technician stuck a hook IN my eye, lacerating my cornea. The only thing going through my mind was "dear god, please help me," just that phrase, over and over and over again...

Yes, Beethoven's ninth would have been more appropriate, but less soothing.
