Grant Lee Phillips covers the Smiths classic "Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me" on his new release "nineteeneighties", out today. Also included are covers of New Order, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, Nick Cave, The Church and others.

In my opinion, "Last Night..." is the most effective (and effecting) cover on the record. Worth picking up the whole album--or grabbing "Last Night" from iTunes at a minimum...

Can we listen to it? (Score:1)
I am curious to give it a hear (or an ear). This guy has good picks. Is this possible?

    Under-rated genius- please read! (Score:1)
    Grant Lee Buffalo = genius.

No doubt, this album will be stellar. Also, have you heard their cover of "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters? This cover appears on the terrific tribute CD, "If I Were a Carpenter" alongside with The Cranberries, Matthew Sweet, Sonic Youth, and more. A gem!

    With love
