This charming man shines over Istanbul - by Emrah Güler, Turkish Daily News

Some like it popular Rock concerts are somewhat the modern-day religious ceremonies, and stages are altars of mass worship. But what makes a true concert experience is a combination of the heated anticipation, the concert itself and the disorienting aftermath For years the rumors of Morrissey taking to the stage in Turkey had surfaced with such surprising details that each eventual misinformation became a bigger letdown. Putting Istanbul review in context (Score:0)
One of the strange things about being at this gig was being surrounded by so many people who had almost certainly never seen Morrissey live before - oh, and the lyrics sung in Turkish accents. Well, there are two things which struck me about this review: I can't imagine how Morrissey's Istanbul audience was 10 years older than the Black Eyed Peas' audience on the previous evening - most of the people near us were in their early 20's. I hardly saw anyone in their 30's - in stark contrast to the audience at the London venues. Also, where on earth did the reviewer's bruises come from.. ? I have never been to such a sedate gig - 3 rows from the front, no-one was pushing and it was almost too civilised. Great gig though - and just to set the record straight, they did stop cooking meat, if not serving it. (And finally, please can no one use this as an excuse to post more ignorant anti-Turkish crap.)

What a sweet, charming review. The contrast in what would be written in a UK review just shows what a sad and cynical lot we are!!
