Veggie Mozza meat spree - The Sun Online

By JOHN COLES

A BUTCHER’S entire stock was bought by Morrissey’s manager — so the trader would not offend the veggie pop star.

Morrissey, whose songs include Meat Is Murder, had stipulated that his concert venue in Truro, Cornwall, was meat free.

But his manager spotted butcher Chris Barrow’s stall at the hall as part of a weekly country market.

Mr Barrow said: “When the manager said he would buy the whole lot I thought he was joking.

“He asked how much I wanted and I thought about it and said £200.

“He took out a wad of cash and paid it without blinking an eye. I wish I’d said £300 now.

“I’ve never even heard of Morrissey, though I understand he’s quite a big name.”

The manager then donated the meat haul to a local hostel for the homeless. It consisted of two bin-bags of sausages, lamb, venison, steak and chops, as well as 40 packs of bacon and 30 packets of sliced ham

Hostel boss Steve Ellis said: “Morrissey didn’t want his donation publicised but, as it has come out, I’m happy to say we’re extremely grateful.”

        Vegetarians note!
But I have heard that Morrissey gets extremely upset if there's meat (and I mean "food") about - even the local crew aren't allowed to eat ANY meat on the premises.
        GREAT!

Fantastic news! I think it's Brilliant that the meat was given to the Homeless unit rather than shucked away. This obviously means that Morrissey understands and tolerates the fact that most people eat meat. Being a vegetarian is a very personal choice and most british people don't think twice about eating meat; it's a part of the daily routine. It has always been and always will be. "Shall we have pork chops or chicken tonight, dear?" is a daily conversation in most british house-holds.
I'm glad he turned it the positive way around and gave it to people who obviously will appreciate it.
I fully understand (being a vegetarian myself) that the sight and smell of meat is repulsive.

I love the fact that Morrissey has his views and opinions and always sticks to his guns!

"A butcher's entire stock was bought by MORRISSEY'S MANAGER..."
"But HIS MANAGER spotted butcher Chris Barrow’s stall..."
"When THE MANAGER said he would buy the whole lot I thought he was joking."
"THE MANAGER then donated the meat haul to a local hostel for the homeless."
"...HIS MANAGER discovered a butcher stand which was part of a fair taking place at the venue."
"MORRISSEY'S MANAGER bought up a butcher's entire stock to avoid offending the vegetarian singer."
"...butcher Chris Barrow, of Cornish County Meats, ended up selling his stock of meat to MORRISSEY'S MANAGER for £200."

It really isn't that difficult to understand. Really.

If you people really are this gullible, it's no wonder that so many people in this country read The Daily Mail and sympathise with The BNP.

Personally, I expect Moz will be livid about this. His manager selling out to a butcher on his behalf? I certainly would be.

The reason I'm posting the blindingly obvious here, is in retaliation to the point by 'Anonymous' (above) that, " Morrissey understands and TOLERATES the fact that most people eat meat," which is of course, utter utter nonsense.
