I got a promo copy today and I'm sure - or actually I swear - that in the sleeve photo Moz has tears in his eyes. At first I thought it was just a "funny" facial expression but if you have a closer look it looks like he is actually crying. "If You Don't Like Me, Don't Look At Me" is a Fantastic B-side. And I mean Fantastic. Many Many Thanks for making releasing singles such an exciting affair! Who else is releasing good B-sides these days? Nobody!

Tony Visconti Said ROTT Should have been (Score:1)
Tony Visconti said ROTT should have been a double album. Having heard all the B-sides so far I do agree that it could have easily been a double! OK double albums can be a bit so-and-so so I'm actually delighted that Morissey will release the rest of the material as B-sides. "If you don't like me" could have been almost a single in itself.

I had assumed that the email I received (from Eil as it goes) was just to ensure they could meet the orders by giving themselves a week to get the orders together. I have received flyers at the gigs listing the 29th as the release date for the second Ringleader single. The email was NOT from Sanctuary/Attack so I assumed the release date for 'Youngest..' as well as the 2 Quarry singles was the 29th! The concert flyers do state the 29th as the release date, surely these could have been corrected if the date was moved? I did not claim the email was from Sanctuary as it was not. Sorry for any confusion but I still believe the release date to be the 29th!

So, despite what Moz may think, SOMEONE must have playlisted the new single. Maybe those evil commercial stations have finally grown some balls.
But anyway, here's why Sanctuary have shown some sense:
Radio stations start playing the single
        Album goes up in charts
Put the release date back so they play it a bit longer.
Before it charts, drops out like a skydiver & they stop playing it.
Album keeps going up in charts.

Let's hope single three (I Just Want To See The Boy Happy, please?) has a similar effect.

Have NME and XfM abandoned Morrissey? (Score:0)
Ever since the Canadian seal thing (and his embarassing comments about how eating lamb ius like eating children), NME has been virtually Moz-free. They haven’t even officially reviewed the UK tour (only a few news pieces on NME.com). Morrissey’s Canadian seal thing made him look a complete fool and loads of people wrote in to complain and even lots of NME journos said how silly they thought it was. Moz was always controversial but usually had the fans on his side as he took pot shots at the Tory government, the royals, crap music, celebrity culture etc. Now half the fans think he’s being a clueless buffoon with poor judgement (how the hell can the Canadian seal cull be considered worse than UK and USA foreign policy in Iraq?) and it seems like NME and XfM are voting with their feet.

XfM aren’t touching his new single. It’s quite a nice, upbeat piece of music but the lyrics are just dreary; no humour, no insight. Just Moz indulging his tedious obsession with crime.

I’m gonna get hugely criticised for this posting but hopefullly some of you will see a bit of truth in what I’m saying.
