DeVries is also involved in music conventions. Over the past decade he has coordinated a yearly Smiths/Morrissey convention at the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood. "Morrissey was the lead singer for the Smiths," he said. "They broke up in 1987, but last year they were voted the most influential band in England. I'm the event organizer, and it's a pretty huge party for fans of the band." This year's convention will feature contests, prizes, dancing, giveaways and a tribute band. Morrissey's guitarist will also be on hand to greet fans. The June 25 gathering will be hosted by Richard Blade, an on-air radio personality with Sirius Satellite Radio and STAR 98.7FM. "It's a can't-miss event for anyone who likes the music of The Smiths and Morrissey," Blade said. "Fans look forward to this each year and plan around that date to make sure they're in town."

Thanks for holding a copy of each single for me back in the days (88-91) when M seemed to release one every few months.
