...in absolutely horrible!! People in the United States have succumb to the ridiculous sounds of hip hop believing that is only style of music. Little do the know that a song does not need to lyrics pertating to cars, rims and jewelry to make it a good song.

Im sooooo disappointed... This album went in and out of the charts with extremely frightening precision. Good lord, please let him try to do ANY kind of promotion over here in the states...Im convinced that most people, even a good number of Morrissey fans, do not even know the existence of this record...The only cure for the lack of sales is a tour! pleeeeeze!

If you ain't from the Hood or a Red Neck in the States you don't sell records.

    Fortunately Morrissey is neither!

It topped the UK Charts but it remains to be seen how long it stays there and how much it sells. It doesn't have a strong single (like First Of The Gang) so it might struggle to match YATQ's achievements.

      American chart position (Score:0)
Morrissey is an international artist. I find it gratifying when his name pops up on all these different top 10 charts in various countries, when he and just a handful of english speaking artists ever appear. I think at this stage, Morrissey and his handlers know he will never be huge in the U.S. so why waste time promoting something that will only be of cult interest. Those who know and love music will buy Morrissey albums, everyone else will get the latest Eminem or Jay-Z release and pretend that they actually like them.

Maintaining his international popularity is much more important and when its all said and done, he will have sold 1 million units worldwide, and have sold out his tour. Morrissey probably doesn't even care how many albums he sells in America. Anything over 100,000 is probably gravy to him, as I'm positive he knows how incredibly lame we Americans are when it comes to music.

Thank you rap/hip-hop for killing music in my country. Its like we allowed these people to crash our party and they have totally taken over the soundsystem and trashed the house.

IMO, this is a perversely uncommercial recording with few memorable hooks or melodies to speak of. Sigh...wish he would take the $5 million...
