excerpt:

We're then given the tour protocol lecture by Arturo, a big friendly giant who's in charge of security and is definitely someone you wouldn't want to mess with. "Rule 1, this is a no-meat tour - absolutely no meat in the venue," he says. "Rule 2, nobody in the hall when He's soundchecking."

Paddy has a friend who worked on a previous Morrissey tour. Apparently the secret code among the crew was "We're just off to look at some museums."

Morrissey's band is already soundchecking. They do instrumentals of How Soon Is Now, Girlfriend in a Coma and what sounds like a New York Dolls song. We decide to nip out for some scran. Obviously one of the greatest joys of international travel is finding amusingly-named foodstuffs and Sweden comes up trumps with Kex, Kack, and our favourite ... Plopp.

As we hurry back through the labyrinthine corridors of the venue to do our soundcheck we literally bump into Morrissey. "Oh, hello!" he says with a shy wave and a mischievous wink. Bloody hell, he actually knows who we are...

    Very interesting (Score:2, Informative)
I have a habit of not bothering to follow these links and just read the summary (which IS usually sufficient).

Their journal is quite interesting and well worth the time to read in full, IMHO.

Hopefully we'll learn why they didn't open the shows in Ireland.

Note that the URL of their Website is www.theboyfriends.com [theboyfriends.com]. It used to be www.theboyfriends.co.uk [theboyfriends.co.uk] as well, but no longer. That URL is now being offered for £1,000! I wonder if they neglected to renew it and it was bought out from under them by a cybersquatter.

Paddy Pulzer of the Boyfriends: Reveals Meat Eatin (Score:1)
Wonder if Moz knows that Paddy Pulzer (of The Boyfriends) is a meat eater and was eating bacon while en route between venues on the ROTT tour?

See: http://www.theboyfriends.com/ , click "Shows" tab, and then click "2nd April 2006 Commentary" tab. Then read comments by PP (ie, Paddy Pulzer).

Here is the excerpt from the webpage:

      Shows

      2nd April 2006 - Hovet, Stockholm

      Setlist: I Love You/Once Upon A Time/Speak Less And Listen/Adult Acne/A Fearless Heart/Remember/Brave Little Soldiers/There Is Always Hope

PP: Another early start. Once out of Gothenburg the Swedish countryside is very snowy and filled with red farmsteads and grumpy looking ponies. After about 3 hours we stop at Laxa for breakfast, the menu is less than clear but, I settle for bacon & aaag and some damn fine coffee.

sometimes it feels like ... (Score:1)
... this site is turning into a Boyfriends tribute site. Really, for a band with no record deal or buyable releases, they seem to generate a lot of column inches here.
