Wanted to let you know I've written up the "November the Second" eBay auction, and have the contested MP3 - along with my take - available for download.

In September 1997, after their contract was up, EMI released Suedehead: The Best of Morrissey, a 19-track, single-disc overview originally outfitted with a second CD EP of unreleased rarities ... a long-rumored dance mix of "November Spawned a Monster" that Morrissey detested and had deleted was supposed to be included. As it turns out [he] does bear more grudges than high-court judges, and had the two-disc set blocked.

Wow, as unremarkable as the "remix" is, the fact that it is now out there is truly remarkable. How these and other (oh, phoney, everyday is like sunday outakes, etc) buried/secret things make it out, how can there not be one person, male or female, to spill the beans on a Moz physical relationship? My answer is that he still hasn't had one.

    Guy (from the label who re-mixed this song): Ummm, Mr. Morrissey, about that new song... the Monster one.

    Moz: November Spawned a Monster?

    Guy: Uh, yeah, that one. You sure you want to release it as a single?

    Moz: I'm the artist, right? Its a single.

    Guy: But Mary Margaret O'Hara? Is she supposed to be the monster or something? Oh and that shirt in the video, perhaps if you wore an undershirt or something it might...

    Moz: Let me make the decisions , please!

    Guy: Perhaps I could re-mix it some, make it a bit more upbeat so that it plays better at the... ahem... 'alternative' discos? If you don't like it we'll scrap the whole thing, I promise.

    Personally I never understood why November (the first) was released as a single in the first place. I actually like the 'second' one better but it wouldn't have to be very good to occupy that status.

    Not as bad as everyone made it out to be. It sounds basically like the original. MMO sounds a bit more scary in this one. This is so much better than that utter crap Sparks remix of Suedehead. I am surprised that Morrissey hated it so much. Basically just a differnet mix of the song not really anything to get hot and bothered about.
