The cycle started when Morrissey was in Dublin and was supposed to see the band Sunbear, who were supporting Sack in Whelan's. His late arrival meant he missed them but he stayed to enjoy Sack and promptly offered them a tour with him. "I am the main writer in the band and have been in it a long time and have had amazing experiences, but I haven’t made money out of it, so you get to my age and go ‘hold on’. Funny enough, how I started getting involved with these events was through the band and Morrissey. We had done a world tour with him in 1999, played all of Europe and America and then he rang us up and said he was coming to Dublin and were we playing a gig? And we weren’t but we said - ah we’ll play something for him, I mean he was really good to us on the tour...
