I'm pretty sure wristbands wearers will have to line up in the morning, but if I have a 500.00 badge & I roll up at 9pm will I get in?

      Thanks Susanne!

Since it seems that the whole festival thing is confusing to people, I hope that this will act as a definitive guide for the next 5 minutes until this scrolls away and somebody else asks:

Most of it is on www.sxsw.com

I can't fully explain what your chances are of getting in to the show with whatever means you decide to try and get it. Maybe your best chance is with arming yourself with weapons. Maybe your best chance is wearing a tiny skirt and getting in with a roadie. I dunno. All i do know is that I can't imagine that the entire capacity of that place is going to be filled with badge holders. After all, it does hold 3,000 people. There are many other bands playing at the same time all over the downtown area, and just like in real life, not everybody likes morrissey.

They don't make people form a line and wait until the next band hits the stage. It's mostly a constant in and out stream of people.

The wristband people are next in line to get in, but again, it depends on how many badge holders are waiting in line to get in and how full the venue is. Even if badge holders are walking up at a steady stream and the place is half empty, they aren't going to make you stand in line until every last badge holder on this planet gains access. That includes people who pay cash at the door. They're going to let everyone in until the point that the place becomes relatively full and that's when they'll start divvying everyone up into separate lines.

I can pretty much tell you right now that if you are from out of town and are waiting to buy a wristband when you come in for the festival, you should forget it. They're going to be long sold out of them. I know they sold out within a few days after being put on sale last year, and they might actually be selling fewer.

I am not offering my services to purchase anyone a wristband. I have no need to buy my own now so I would only be taking my lunch hour (or longer) to stand in line for you, and I have been burned a couple of times by people who either didn't send what they were selling after sending them money or people flaking out about other things that involved my money, so I now have a policy that since there are a bunch of clowns on the internet that I'm not going to be particularly generous with anyone. I neither want to be stuck with a $150 wristband and try to figure out how to hock it nor send you a wristband and never see that $150. I think most of you would do the same for me.

As for the afternoon interview, unless you have the now $575 music badge, you can't get in. They don't sell day passes and they don't allow wristbands in. Wristbands only get you into the clubs at night.
