Excerpt:

Elbow and former Smith to get their own shows

A host of Manchester legends are set to become DJs on a new local radio station.

Elbow's Guy Garvey, former Smiths man Andy Rourke and the Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon are all set to host shows on XFM, which launches in Manchester on March 15.

Garvey and Rourke will host weekend shows for the station along with Factory Records impresario Tony Wilson.

If you're a Mancunian (like me) & you didn't know Xfm was launching up here.
That's very good news. We NEED an alternative to the usual local radio bobbins.

Oldhams' revolution has practically built its following on Clint Boon, and he has gone to XFM?
I did hear that terry Christian was on board also.
I hope it has a strong signal- that dance crap on galaxy drowns everything else out.
