An anonymous person writes:
I don't know it this has been submitted already, but there's a lengthy item, possibly a publicity release, about Ringleader of the Tormentors on Morrissey's official MySpace profile: http://www.myspace.com/morrissey

According to MySpace, Morrissey has 6112 friends.

It claimed it was only 7 when he appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show.

He's getting less picky, certainly.

reads like it was written by someone on crack. it harps on about the keg song, changes gear, and then revisits the same song much later on.

I don't think it's a publicity statement/press release - it sounds more like a review from a biased Moz fan. Still, time will tell.

Who says it's an "official" myspace account?

Not seen any links to it from Julia's site, and if anybody would know, she would.

Links to that Morrissey band account were being run as ads on the site back in the day and it was decently promoted. "I Like You" was the first featured song on the profile, "Redondo Beach" and a few others have cropped up now and then, correlating with the releases.

i don't like the focus of this (Score:0)
Somehow I don't really feel excited (not to mention aroused) by the prospect of actually hearing that line about the spreading of legs. I'm hoping that this is merely a way to make a buzz about the new album, and that it will contain more subtle lyrics, which Morrissey is usually excellent at. My biggest complaint about YATQ was that it was way too personal in a blatant way. I, for one, feel that his rants about his problems with the court and music industry really "says nothing to me about my life", even if they could be a bit entertaining.

I'm pretty optimistic about the new album, anywhow - from what we've heard this far (save the occasional hype-mongering such as this myspace feature) it sounds like it'll be more worthy of Morrissey. So cheers for that.

OMG 'everyone' is on myspace aren't they? Pretty sure it's his label or management that have sorted him out. That's what happens in Moz world- people do look out for him, and have done since the beginning. Found an interesting smiths tribute page on there as well: www.myspace.com/thesmithsindeed . Not bad. But still not the real deal of course. Blackburn, here I come!
