Morrissey under surveillance by “New Criminologist”

The “New Criminologist” is the oldest journal for professionals involved in all aspects of criminology, and features the world’s eminent crime authorities. How bizarre to find an article then on one of Morrissey’s latest question-and-answer sessions up on its website: Former Smiths frontman Morrissey blasts Bush and Blair.

Here’s how it starts off: “Morrissey has had a go at George W Bush and Tony Blair in answer to questions put to him on fan website true-to-you.net. The question asked how he defined himself politically and he answered to the effect that he has no party loyalty, saying: "I find myself opposing barbarism…”

Dunno if it’s a compliment or a caution, but people in the most unlikely places are obviously sitting up and taking notice of his well-articulated views.

Anybody with half an ounce of intelligence, stay clear of these fascist morons. They have nothing to offer but hate and violence.

They prey on peoples ignorance and insecurities.

They are the scum of the earth and should be wiped off it. Hanging's too good for them.

Could we please remove this post as this an illegal right wing movement in the UK.

They have been guilty of race hate crimes many times.

If this is not removed then this site is acting as a conduit for recruiting fascists.

If that is the case, this will be the last ime I ever visit Morrisey Solo.

Think on !

People sometimes don't know the forces that counteract any fair attempt to denounce the abuses practiced by the meat industry - and it wouldn't be an exageration to call it the meat empire. "Anti-Mac Donald's" protesters, for example, get cuffs and jail at the same time they get publicity and sympathy from a segment of a country's media. José Bové, in 1999, got thrown in jail for "bombarding" a Mac Donald's in France with apples. He claimed the gesture meant a symbolic destruction of the Mac Donald's empire, and its spreading of the mad cow's disease, which was seriously damaging the commercialisation of goat milk and the rockefort cheese. In newspapers and in the cover of a book Bové was interviewed with François Dufour - The World Isn't a Mercandise - Bové appears with a smiling victory, hands cuffed and raised in fists. I know this hasn't anything directly to do with this article on Morrissey, but it's curious nonetheless that any attempt by anyone to protest - with symbolic, not real, physical violence! - against the meat or the fur industry gets a criminal tone to it. I interpret Morrissey's statement as being of the same kind and intention as José Bové's : two different countries, two different people, with the same strong sense of awareness of how the meat industry is a form of food bourne imperialism.

Better take a stance against pets, which like meat factories deprive animals of the dignity of the wild.
