It was long overdue, but Zoom Entertainment, a British Karaoke label has put out a Smiths & Moz only karaoke disc. Lots of hits are here and the rather obscure "Pregnant for the Last Time" is thrown in as well.

What's with the set list?? (Score:1)
I don't get it --- the Smiths' songs, fine. But every single one of those solo tracks is off his first two albums Viva Hate and Bona Drag, save one. Absolutely NOTHING from his Golden Era of Your Arsenal through Boxers whatsoever excepting the obvious Ignore Me. That's the ONE included track beyond his first two LPs. WTF?

You could throw a dart a hundred times at a list of all the Moz tracks from Arsenal through the Boxers EP and come out with a better track than most anything off the first two LPs 98 times out of 100. I don't get that.

But, this being a karaoke disk, I guess most casual fans are more familiar with his early stuff, so maybe that's the "logic" behind this. Still, there's no way to justify excluding "Now My Heart Is Full", "Boxers", "Jack the Ripper", "Hold On To Your Friends", "We'll Let You Know", or "Tomorrow".

Ah well.... it's just like with the Rolling Stones. Moz's specific great period is 1992-1995 comprising Arsenal thru Boxers, just like the Stones was specifically 1968 (Jumpin' Jack Flash) through 1974's "It's Only Rock and Roll", when guitarist Mick Taylor departed. Yet everyone wants to hear "Satisfaction." :-)

Thats all anyone has to do is to check with stores like Radio Hack or any music store that sells instruments {such as Daddy's, Mars, Guitar Center} and ask for a "Voice Eliminator Box". I got one at Radio Hack some years ago and you can basically put on ANY CD of your choice, and it will play it back without the vocals. The only thing it will not do is, give you the words on your TV or monitor screen. But really, I am sure that everyone that reads Moz Solo knows every Smiths and Morrissey song by heart and backwards as well! You could pick one up for 20 or 30 dollars. Sing Your Lives...
