Johnny Carson guestbook

It sounds real?

I was a guest on your show in 1992. You made the band and myself feel right at home. The honesty that you displayed on The Tonight Show will never be seen again on late night television. I am sad that you left us so early.

Best Wishes, Morrissey

not to take credit for everything that goes on around here, but i'm sure someone saw my Carnac picture for halloween and decided to look it up and then, stumbling upon this guest book, wrote a short message to see what attention they could attract.

Er I think I wrote that actually. I went on Nancy Sinatra's web-site as well and left her a little message. Sorry guys I've posted so much as Morrissey I can't remember if I did that one! Anyway I think don't remember Johnny Carson being one of Morrissey heros...

Heeeeeeers Carson, Coz and Moz! (Score:1)
The first time Morrissey played on The Tonight Show was when Johnny Carson was still hosting it. I remember the audience was mostly Moz fans that took over the studio and did not even let Bill {Coz} Cosby do his 'somewhat weathered' spot for 15 minutes. I think Mr. Cosby was a bit confused because the crowd was yelling for "Moz", and he thought they were yelling "Coz" instead? He then had to say Morrissey's name about 5 or 10 times just to get a reaction out of the die-hard fans. The band did a great version of "There Is A Place in Hell" and "Sing Your Life". Its definately worth checking out if you have not done so already. I do believe that Mozzer may have written this to Johnny because he admired and respected his talent. Maybe the rumour of the two of them going out for wine and tea at Spagos after the show was true after all?

Morrissey should get married to someone a lot older than him. I mean he just loves playing the grieving widow. Come on anyone ever heard him express appreciation for Carson BEFORE he died? Thought not.

I saw that appearance by Morrissey on Carson. Morrissey must have been nervous - he missed the pitch of every note by a good quarter-tone. Carson, who was an old-school guy, looked down unsmilingly after the segment, obviously angry, and mumbled "We'll be right back". During the break, I imagined Carson reaming out his producer and demanding to know how that guy could get booked.
