Marr has heard the new album? [fake story?]
posted by davidt on Thursday November 03 2005, @10:00AM

An anonymous person writes:
I was reading this weeks NME, and there is a small piece on Johnny Marr's new album, which does not yet have a title.

Anyways, he says that he has heard some of Morrissey's new songs and says:

"Yeah, it is quite different. Not my cup, but ya know it is interesting"

How would Marr have heard the album???

Just these first bits of info about the record sound like it will provoke an extreme reaction from fans and press alike. That Morrissey had to get Vosconti to swear he liked the songs, that they were recording under stressful conditions and considered scrapping everything, that the first producer didn't work out, a children's choir... Marr saying it isn't "his cup."

Better get ready for change in Mozland. I'm a bit worried.

Do they keep in touch? I don't know for sure, but the relationship appears to be a hot & cold thing. They probably need to talk about old Smiths' business, instead of leaving the legacy to those hated lawyers and record executives.
