Spencer was probably the best drummer Morrissey has employed, and if like me, you look back to those days captured in Morrissey Shot, there was a real excitement when Moz was on stage backed by Alain, Gary/Johnny, Boz and Cobrin. Morrissey has always thrived when he works as part of a 'group' and the work they did together is, in it's way, a match for his time in the Smiths.
I cannot understand why people who call themselves Morrissey fans delight in bitching about individuals as talented as Spencer and Alain - if they really offend you that much, then go home and burn your copies of Your Arsenal...that is, if you actually own them, or as I suspect, you only have them as downloads off Kazaa

I'm glad to hear that Spencer is doing very well, and he was the best drummer Morrissey has worked with, at least solo-wise for that matter.

Speaking of old bandmates, does anybody know what Jonny Bridgewood does these days? I was wondering since one poster brought up Morrissey's old tour days and how magical his concerts were (and still are). I've never heard any more about him after he left the Maladjusted days. I thought he was a pretty talented bassist, yet I'm glad that Gary Day came back!
