According to this month's Q Magazine, which features a thumbnail shot of Morrissey on the cover (circa 1984, complete with flowers in the foreground), Morrissey comes in at number 6 in this poll. Ahead of him are: Paul Heaton (The Beautiful South), Brian May, Dido, Sir Cliff Richard and Lou Reed.

Seems like the silly season isn't yet over.

As fas as I am concerned, Brian May is royalty, Dido is HOT, and Morrissey could possibly have more dignity and grace than any other artist/singer/etc. out there today.

                                ...oh the unexpected hilarity of us awarding false bad magazine awards to Q...but.....it's SO TRUE!!!

                                Q is such an appalling magazine these days it's not even funny. Always fogeyish, middle-aged and middle-brow, it now takes those tendencies to the absolute extreme and has absolutely no saving grace whatsoever.

                                It's something for bored, 40/50-something dads to read in between bouts of gardening.

Oh, I am so dramatic now... but all these quirks and jerky moves are, like he said, as he was that frail chick hatching from his egg, "so melodramatic (tongue sticks out) but so true (tongue jumps back in).

                                    This makes me really angry as I strongly believe that Moz is not at all pathetic. He is a powerful, controversial artist. Calling an album Meat is Murder, is that pathetic? He is never afraid to give his real opinion in interviews unlike most of the boring say-nothing indie stars today. Morrissey is original and truly eccentric, pathetic is not a word I would use to describe him.

                                            There's even a list show on Sunday on tv called "50 Best Documentaries". There's been "100 Best Kids Shows", oh, I could go on, but my soul's shrivelling at the thought. What next? "100 Greatest Lists".

                                            It's a sad reflection on our culture (well, not mine) which is all surface and no depth (as a certain Mr Bracewell said). All sign and no content.

                                            It's enough to make me smash my brains out with a brick. Except I just can't be bothered to waste the little enthusiasm I have.

                                                It seems that whenever someone writes anything bad about someone in magazines or newspapers, it sells better than the opposite. Why not put Morrissey name on the top of this list? He would definately be on the top of the 'least pathetic' also! Actually, it doesn't matter what list you put his name in for God's sake, he would even be in the 'top 10' of those ones too! And yes, even that list also. And without a dought, even that one too. Bad press is still good press.
