David Gray - "I was a massive Smiths fan growing up...", NOW Magazine (Toronto)

This will either raise your opinion somewhat of David Gray or prove slightly embarassing. For NOW Magazine's "celebrityspins" column, David Gray has offered up The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now?" as one of his current favourites:

"I was a massive Smiths fan growing up and had the double comb-back haircut to prove it. They were the first band I saw live, and I loved them. Someone even chucked a pound of sausages at Morrissey. I've picked this as a memory of my childhood and the sausages."

David's full selection, including The Specials and New Order in addition to The Smiths, can be viewed here.

Mixed feelings about David Gray (Score:1)
I have very mixed/conflictual feelings with regard to David Gray.

He has been awfully critically of Morrissey and the Smiths in the past- to the point of being rude.

I hate it that celebs and others are now name-checking Morrissey just because it is suddenly "cool" and "chic." David Gray is not known to be very nice at all. He has said some very hateful things about Morrissey/The Smiths in the past.

If it weren't for Dave Matthews, David Gray would be a nobody. David Gray has talent, but he needs to develop charisma. And he needs to keep his rotten comments to himself.

Always-
