I met Morrissey tonight!

Stephen Lucero writes:
While at a pub(name withheld to protect Morrissey from stalkers) in Hollywood to watch a soccer game, I had the second greatest night of my life (after my wedding). Morrissey was there along with a young (mid-20's), attractive Latino guy. At first I was in total disbelief. Various friends of mine have seen Morrissey at the most random places, finally it was my turn. Morrissey was dressed very smartly. He had on slacks and a grey blazer, as his friend did. He looked younger than I expected and seemed to be in good spirits all night.

I rushed to my car and luckily I had a Moz CD (Bona Drag) in the car, which is a rarity being that I primarily rely on my iPod. To make a long story short I approached him and we proceeded to have a nice five minute conversation and he signed my CD (scan). He was more witty and charming than I could have imagined. I had always thought that if I ever met him I would be very calm and relaxed when I talked to him. I found myself very nervous and anxious about the whole situation. When I first met him I introduced myself and told him that I was a "great fan of his" to which he responded with nod of his head and a wry smile "great!, oh really, how so?" I told him of the impact he has had on my life to which he seemed genuinly interested. He has that kind of magnetism and charisma where you when you talk to him you feel he is intently listening to you and giving you his full attention.

Overall, he was exceptionaly nice and friendly and offered his hand upon parting. He stayed at the bar over two hours and looked very relaxed and appeared to be having a great time.

Having been longtime fan, since Meat is Murder, it was a dream come true.

The woman who owned it was a bored rich lady of St John's wood. Simon Callow and his pretty boyfriend at the time were regulars as were Frances Barber and many many famous locals. Morrissey and Jake used to frequent it too. I popped downstairs to the "office" one evening to put some Tania Maria on the CD player and "barged" in on Jake and the proprietor having a discussion about you-know-who and someone else's boyfriend!
