Danton Supple, who produced some Morrissey tracks (yes, he did), recently produced Coldplay's X&Y.

Here's an old video interview with Danton, he just has such a lovely soothing voice...

danton engineered southpaw and maladjusted, which (at the risk of starting the usual trouble) seem to be growing by the year in the esteem of moz fans (certainly southpaw). while i first thought 'danton supple' was one of those moz-invented credits like 'terrace stomp', it is his real name. he's a lovely chap and while i can't stand coldplay it's great that he's the name on the biggest album of the year.

While there have been fantastic songs after Southpaw Grammar, I would have to say that SG was Moz's last "interesting" album. ie, he tried doing something different with the production and the layering of the tracks.

You could tell he was really hurt by its poor reception. Besides the fact that he said he was, I remember him trying to push SG songs at us on My Early Burglary Years and on the tours.
