WHO IS YOUR HERO?
I don't really have one. But I admire some of the qualities of Disraeli, Lady Thatcher and Gandhi for his selflessness!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SONG/PIECE OF MUSIC?
So many, but currently enjoying: Morrissey's Irish Blood English Heart. The Streets, Dry your eyes. I guess my all time favourite is Beethoven's piano concerto No 3, Adagio Con Brio. Listened to it since childhood."
Does he actually like Moz I wonder, or is he trying to appear up-to-date and unlike a stuffy Tory perhaps? Especially as 'Irish Blood...' has the "sick to death of Labour, and Tories" line. Either way, doesn't look like he's heard 'Margaret on the Guillotine'!

iwould imagine that these types of political references in Morrissey's lyrics that you mention would be a great part of the reason why he does like Moz. obviously, being a career politician, he is a man who in interested in political matters and, even if they should be negative responses toward politics, they likely spark interest for him.

politicians dont necessarily need you to be able to agree with everything they say for them to like you and maybe, given Morrissey's non-allegiance to any particular party, he sees Moz a potential swing vote...

Oh, my sides are splitting. So, he was a young goon instead of an old goon; big difference.

He's obviously trying to hit the youth vote with "Dry Your Eyes" and trying to hit the 20s/30s with the Morrissey reference.

Good luck, mate; you should've picked Duran Duran - we Moz fans aren't pushovers.

why is it that every idiot on this board has to speculate as to why people like morrissey? i guess the people that visit this site are really just a bunch of poseurs attempting to appear young and up-to-date. can't you see how a song like irish blood, english heart might appeal to someone with a background such as mr. afriyie? i guess to you "real" fans you can only like mozzer if you're ghastly white, appallingly lazy and poor, and a chronic bed-wetter.
