Update: 06/06 18:08 GMT:
From Sanctuary Artist Management
Contrary to any recent reports on the Web or otherwise.

Morrissey will not be playing this festival.

I live in Portugal and I find it strange that at Jesus Jones' website (a band that will be playing at the Vilar de Mouros festival on the 29th of July) Morrissey appears as performing on that same day, after Peter Murphy. Do you know anything about this? I find it highly unlikely, if not impossible, but i thought it deserved some attention. I will pray for it to be confirmed, nevertheless.

The website is www.jesusjones.com, you can find the info at the news section, under information.

Excerpt:

The bill is currently:
Morrissey (tbc)
Peter Murphy
The Charlatans (tbc)
Jesus Jones
Cage Baby

It's in northern Portugal, close to the Spanish border.

Okay, 'nuff of that. No more grovelling or begging (esp. for/about/to Morrissey) today!
Anyone find it a bit peculiar/suspicious that he'd play a festival in a non-English-speaking country, but not one in England?

Odd.

I mean, odds are it won't happen - don't think Mozzer will be at that one.

For someone who mentioned it, praying for him to come to this festival isn't my priority in life, it was a means of expression. Perhaps you should consider not posting uselessly as one of your priorities. As for those who said it would be cruel for him to go to that portuguese festival after "cancelling" IW, don't be so greedy. Most of you have seen him five hundred times, or as many times as he has played in the UK or the states. He's only been here once, and it was a bad gig, as everyone recalls (it was in 1999). Actually, you're all invited to come over to Vilar de Mouros, you'll love it ;)
