I'm not going to get in a full blown argument... but even those 90s retro nothings Superjoke have more musical talent than Oasis. It's not hard. The test of a good band is whether they can diversify into lots of different areas, and still keep their sound whilst at the same time not sounding all the same. There is ONE band in the nineties 'indie' scene that did this- Blur.

Check out b-side "Swallows In The Heatwave" where they actually out-Oasis Oasis... in fact even Ride managed to do a better Oasis-type sound in 1994 before Noel et Liam had got huge on their cover of "How Does It Feel To Feel?", as found on the excellent "Carnival Of Light" album. The same goes for the Charlatans circa 96, although their attempt was less fantastic... but it's still more worthy than anything in Oasis' back catalogue.

I myself almost fell for it with "Live Forever" back in 94 and nearly bought the album but before I made the mistake countless millions did I saw through the hype and realised there was no depth to it.

So they released one mediocre album that people say "is untouchable" just because they associate it with being pissed up and young, a second album that proved they only knew one trick (Sunsheeeiiiine *jangly guitar/overblown production*) and then after that countless more where they actually became a cover band of themselves. But of course, by then the millions were devoted and did not want to admit they were fooled, and so continued to compound their original error.

It's indie music for people who don't like indie music. Just like Mouldplay, Crevis, The Stereomanics et AL.

"Leyla" sounds like "Blockbuster" by The Sweet. I don't need to say anything else.
