Some daft parents with a popharlot daughter, age 6, have committed a worse form of child abuse -- naming their male sprog Morrissey.

The Skye’s the limit for child pop singer - Sayreville NJ Suburban

Excerpt:

Manny, who over the years released five CDs of his own, and his wife, Donna, have always been very into music — they named their first child Morrissey, after the popular British solo artist and singer of the Smiths. Morrissey, Vienna’s older brother, is now 9.

Absolutely. Just imagine how many people that boy's going to meet over the course of his life who won't be able to spell his name with the adequate number of 'r's and 's'es.

With all due respect to the Man Himself... I always toyed about naming a child (in the case I surprisingly become a parent) Esteban Patricio or the femenine equivalent... I'd rather name him Diego Armando if it was the case of a boy or Diega Armanda in the case of a girl. That's my fianl word, cheers.

He's going to have to start using his surname. The only problem will be if he becomes famous later in life, & then children are named after him, it could be the beginning of a very viscious circle.

I see the years ahead, looming before me, like pages on a calendar...Little Morrissey is now a young man and also BMOC (Big Man On Campus) I cringe at the horror of his friends, calling him Moz and even Mozzer. Unfortunately, for this poor child, I see many years of pyschotherapy ahead. On the other hand, young Moz could have a latent talent..for preferring his own company and scribbling feverishly written poetry into a well used notebook. We shall follow this story as the mystery unfurls.....
