BUT at least i get to go now! Even if i don't know how i'm getting there...or know anyone going...or have the faintest idea how i'm going to explain my new&improved bank-balance to my lovely bank manager.

I just wish they'd hurry up & announce more acts now. Anyone heard any rumours?

Some posters say they never liked him, which is fair enough, but then others reveal their utter ignorance by saying he's a "poor man's Bono" because he sings about "love and patriotism" (spot the person who's only ever heard 'Irish Blood'), or that they want "uplifting" songs so that they don't want to go back to their tents depressed. I'm sorry, but if I have to hear Supergrass's "Feel Alright", or whatever it's called, once more, I will commit harrie carrie. Then some others say they'd swap Morrissey for Cream or Feeder! Cream have half a decent LP and a whole host of self-indulgent fret wanking to their name, while Feeder are just boring. I guess it's up to them, but I actually find it depressing when people complain that they want "uplifting" music - it's such a cliche, and so dull. Personally, I think the Saturday should be taken up by Moz, Interpol and Nick Cave, just to rub them up the wrong way, and with a two hour afternoon slot from Diamanda Galas. Now that would be a day I'd love to see.

PS, I'm not against "uplifting" music - I think Basement Jaxx's new single, 'Oh My Gosh', is delightful, and am really looking forward to the new Missy Elliot and Lauryn Hill LPs. So I'm not being a snob in reverse, hating on pop music because it's not leftfield enough - far from it, I love pop music, if I think it's good! But all this hating on Morrissey that's going on on the festival forum. obviously comes from a place of complete ignorance! And it saddens me that the man who wrote the glorious likes of 'Handsome Devil', 'There Is A Light', 'This Night...', 'Still Ill', 'November', 'Find Out For Yourself' and 'Seasick' should be the butt of so much uninformed prejudice.
