In both cases, I could think of many other people to whom, if this happened, it would seem to me less than tragic.

Interesting to read elsewhere how TIALTNGO is a popular funeral song, maybe because it offers an alternative when people feel they’re ‘welcome no more’, time to find a new home of sorts. I was looking at the liner-notes written by author Frode Grytten for the Margaret’s album “love will haunt you down” again, and I think it helps to explain indirectly the strong effect of that song:

“I think that the rain also has a light in itself. The dark has a light in itself. The house calls with yellow windows and all that's to be found inside: Family pictures, coffee drinking, laughter, chatter, postcards, pop songs. All of the simple things that make it the heart.
To find this house. To drive down to the wharf. To hear these songs. It's a sort of homecoming. It is an amazing feeling of knowing you're welcome. To zoom over the bridge and drive right home.
This is how I define love.”
