Thought you might be interested in this article from the latest edition of access all areas - a UK trade mag for the corporate events industry.

It focuses on a unique mono sound system used for the Earls Court gig, but mentions security issues as well.

Did anyone sitting/standing towards the back think the sound was better than usual for a gig of this size? (I was embroiled down the front.) I wonder if Moz sanctioned the set-up, or indeed even knew about it?

I enjoyed this article. Very informative.
Make you appreciate the work and effort
it takes to put on a concert, let alone
    record it.

    Can't wait for the CD.

On the second page of the article there is a quote: "'There is that small element that have historically been a bit fanatical about Morrissey that generally cause problems maybe at the front of the stage area, trying to get on stage,' Battersby said, 'but having done Morrissey at the MEN back in the summer, which was his homecoming gig, you quickly build up a picture about what the audience profile is going to be like, and it's not a problem crowd...'"

I never considered it as causing problems when people would try to get on stage. Morrissey even encourages it. So why isn't security informed of this? It sounds here like they hate the idea of people trying to get to Morrissey. Which, from a security standpoint, I can see it, but don't they understand?

Interesting. I was at that gig, and one of my main comments to my friends afterwards was how good the sound quality was. Though i thought it had the athmosphere of a morgue, and the set list had a lot to answer for - i.e favouring bad b-sides over the many classic songs he has written over the years, i could easily jot down 20 OTHER amazing solo songs that he could have played. And he doesn't need to play smiths songs.

But yes - sound quality was amazing. You would think mono would be worse, shows you how much i know eh !!!!!
