Joseph's comment on his favorite love song -
"I chose 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' 'cause my friend Cerise told me it would be a really good idea. Joan Wasser played violins. She is a light that never goes out. I hope Morrissey likes it."

I expected a more profund reason.

Oh well, can't expect too much.

      Dear Friends,

I really despise most songs which cover Morrissey/Smiths tunes. Most are simply awful- and I have a good collection of these cover tunes!!!

However, you should *really* buy this CD if only to listen to this version of "There is a Light..."

This incredibly version is extremely haunting, yet- at the same time- uplifting. It is best listened to at a higher-than-average volume. The song is deeply textured- it is woven with violins.

Give this one a try. I can't stop listening to it. It sounds reminiscent also of My Morning Jacket ("Golden").

      Always-

I don't usually buy compilation CDs- but this one is rather interesting. Yes I bought it at Starbucks. (I have mixed feelings about Starbucks in general- but the coffee is good)-

Most of the tunes are very clever and interesting.

        My favorites are
        Rufus Wainwright- "My Funny Valentine"
Calexico- "Love Will Tear Us Apart"

There is also an *excellent* (touching) Matthew Sweet Cover.

Of course- the best- is the Smiths' classic cover.

It is *not* the best compilation CD- but it is interesting.
