        San Francisco show (Sun, 1/16) (Score:0)
        At last night's show at Cafe du Nord, he sang "Sister I'm a Poet" commenting the word poet is never actually sung in the song and on Morrissey's lyrical genius. He also sang "I Changed My Plea to Guilty".

        Great show - more people should sing about bicycles with apologetic sincerity.

          I'm really excited about this. I think The Decemberists are one of the most interesting bands to emerge from the US indie-rock scene in a while. Colin is a real poet and wordsmith, and obviously also a really big Smiths/Morrissey fan. This CD sounds like a classy tribute, with a great selection of songs to boot.

          Thanks to the generosity of people-on-the-internet, two copies are winging their way from the US to New Zealand for me and a friend. Can't wait ...

              nyc dates (Score:0)
              im going to try to get a ticket somehow for the nyc monday night show. i saw the decemberists at maxwells last summer and they closed the set with "ask." i was also at maxwells the night they played there for cmj. i was at the bar for a friends birthday, but stumbled into the show after a few drinks and caught colins cover of everyday is like sunday. im excited to hear the ep.
