I was just surfing the 'Net on New Years eve and decided to see what Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler (i.e. The Tears) were up to. Go to www.thetears.co.uk, click on the "Cultural Habits" section, and look for Bernard Butler's entry. It seems that he's still quite the ardent Smiths fan. He mentions "pleasepleaseplease let me get what i want" and confesses to "collecting the smiths". Can't wait for their album in 2005!

I was a BIG suede fan when younger and I saw them (amongst many other times) at the Manchester Academy in 1993(I think).

I hung around after the gig and seeing as the roadies left the huge venue double doors open I decided to mosey into the bar. I saw the band members there and spoke to them all (they had remembererd me from other gigs).

Being a Smith's fan myslef I spoke to Bernard discovering he had seen The Smiths live 6 or 7 times! Top geezer!
