5) Morrissey, You Are the Quarry (Attack/Sanctuary)
Maybe it’s not fair to give an entire album such high props for just one song, especially since the opening track, an attack on George W.’s America called "America Is Not the World," sounded awkward and a little too easy coming from a Brit. But the second track ("Irish Blood, English Heart"), a steamroller of an anthem with a wall of guitars almost as fierce as those on "American Idiot," took deadly aim at Morrissey’s own government. The rest of the album is really beside the point, but it’s not half bad, either. Too bad Lollapalooza didn’t survive to give Morrissey a chance to preach to the unconverted.

This idiot acts like "You Are The Quarry" only has one good song. What a retard. But what do ya expect from someone who thinks Green Day's album was the best of the year......

I have no idea why this site feels the need to post so many year-end lists that include Morrissey. If we're endorsing the media's lists and judgments here, doesn't that make it problematic to point out that most of the shit they praise is rubbish?

If the media wants to prove they appreciate Morrissey, they can prove it by actually playing his songs on radio and MTV.

Excuse me one moment... I can't stop the laughter.

I have actually listened to "American Idiot" so I have a reason to dislike it. To compare the great Mozza with an at best mediocre band like Green Day is plain silly. Yes, American Idiot is Green Day's best album in many people's opinions. Then again, it wouldn't be hard to make the "best album" of Green Day's career

If the writer knew anything about the UK he would realise that it is an attack on the perverse political corectness that is blighting the U.K. - a legacy of successive governments over the last 30 years. People are emigrating from these shores in droves because of fears of future education facilities for their kids, idiotic immigration policies, pensions........the story is old, I know, but it goes on...........Sorry.

First he says it sounds awkward, then, in the same sentence, that it sounds too easy. I suppose it's possible to be both of those things at once, but he doesn't really make much of a case. And secondly, what's wrong with it 'coming from a Brit'? It's just so typically American to think only Americans are allowed to comment on their country. What a w**nker.
