In 2005 channel 4 will be celebrating the 100 Greatest albums of all time voted by the public. The only Mozza/Smiths album to be nominated is 'The Queen is Dead'. You can vote for your fav album on the website so let's get voting.

    suggest moz's "your arsenal"

A lot of the albums up for nomination are not even the best work from the associated artists.

I don't think it is wise to fill in the 'five other suggestions' totally from albums by Moz or The Smiths, although it could easily be done.

      My other five :-

      Vauxhall and I
      Led Zeppelin 3
Overnite Sensation - The Mothers of Invention
      Low - David Bowie
Doremi Faso Latido - Hawkwind (The ultimate space rock album)

I think both 'Meat is Murder' and 'The Smiths' are better than 'The queen is dead' anyway. However, I think Channel Four's polls always look for the acceptable. Maybe there should be two polls, the first for multi-million selling 'products' and one for serious albums of historic music. This would mean that we would not have the likes of 'Thriller,' 'Bat out of hell' and the publicity driven offerings from Madonna to deal with.

I am sure not everybody, including myself, would agree with all choices outside of the Jackson/Madonna etc... shite, but at least they would be more valid opinions.

        i suggested these :

        morrissey - your arsenal
depeche mode - some great reward
        pet shop boys - very
        erasure - chorus
        orb - u.f.orb

i can't believe there were no albums by these artists to choose from out of the 125 choices!

Well, I luvem, don`t know about you!

          Anyway, here were my choices

          Blondie - Parallel Lines
          The Clash - London Calling
          David Bowie - Hunky Dory
The Jam - All Mod Cons
          Joy Division – Closer
          Lou Reed – Transformer
          Patti Smith – Horses
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols
The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
The Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground And Nico

Ian Dury, Madness and New Order just nudged out there.

And the five that should have got in?

          I chose

          "Pink Flag" Wire
          "Your Arsenal" Morrissey
          "Grotesque" The Fall
          "Raw Power" Iggy
"Another Music In A Different Kitchen" Buzzcocks

Okay there's other Smiths albums but I think we've got out "contender" there, I think "Unknown Pleasures" is better than "Closer" and I think Half Man Half Biscuit are the third best band ever but I`m being tactical here. Just about left out The Ramones' and Siouxsie's first too.

          CHRIST I enjoyed that!!!
