Franz Ferdinand supporting in Birmingham?

According to local press in the West Midlands, Franz Ferdinand are supporting Morrissey in Birmingham this Tuesday. I can't find any other information about this but I have looked and Franz don't have a gig that night. The newspaper I read this in was the 'Express and Star'.

Lets hope so.... maybe PJ Harvey has pulled out due to death threats emanating from this site!!!

I don't reckon this (FF) is true though. lets hope it is and we'll be pleasantly surprised. It would be even better if both they and PJ Harvey played as well as the main man!

Incidentally what is everyone doing before/ after the Birmingham gig? My mate and I are coming from Cardiff and would appreciate any tips on what to do/ where to go. Unfortuanely my works server will not permit gogin on the discussion board hence this request here.
I've been told Broad Street has loads of pubs but I think I've been there before and its full of Walkabouts and the like....

Isn't it PJ Harvey at Birmingham? Mind you, Franz Ferdinand were excellent at the MEN so I don't mind which it is.

BTW, any tips on places to go before or afterwards? The NIA's at the end of Broad Street and I'm told there's loads of good bars there.

See you at the gig, guys!

Finally some decent support acts (Score:0)
It's pleasing how in this tour he's at last got some good support bands. In the past tours his stock was so low he'd be lucky if Geneva supported him and we had to put up with the likes of the aptly-named Sack. Now his patronage means something and people are queueing up to support him, so we can get some of the higher profile (good) stuff he likes. The Libertines and Franz Ferdinand were already considered cool before he championed him, but are still happy to support him.

Franz don't actually need Moz's support and in fact sold a lot more records than him and are widely thought of as band of the year. I doubt they'll be a support for Birmingham as they can easily headline themselves. I like them, but it's difficult to see the Moz influence "Take Me Out" reminded me of "There Is A Light" but only a bit of the lyric. Nothing like it really.

I was over the moon when I heard PJ Harvey was supporting, it's not often you get the chance to see your two favourite male and female icons on the one bill. I don't agree with the fox-hunting, but I'm not a vegetarian either. Polly is from the country, so that's why she feels like that. It makes sense for Moz to like her as she's in many ways an updated version of his childhood fave Patti Smith - only a lot better, because Polly is more musically talented (a genius, in fact) whilst Patti is ugly and can't sing.
