I was in San Diego on Sunday seeing "Green Day" at the Cox Arena, when out of the blue Billy Joe Armstrong (the singer and guitar player from Green Day) got on the mike as he was playing a song and said "This song goes out to Morrissey" and started playing "Boulevard of Broken dreams".

The intro sounds spookly like How Soon is Now?

You can tell they kind of ripped off HSIN. Greenday are good, they're just a bit cheesy lyrically.

          both employ The Rock? (Score:1)
Cool! Besides the Jerry Finn connection, there's another possible link. I was just in the pit for Green Day show in SF as I was for the LA Wiltern shows earlier this year. I think the pit security manager ("The Rock" according to MorrisseyTour?) is the same. This is the stocky guy with short brown hair that stands behind the guards in the trench and tracks the artist on stage.

...is a Hanoi Rocks song. "She" is a Green Day song that was also a Misfits song first. "Downtown" from Petula Clark is also in one their songs. I'm not a Green Day fan, but I've noticed these things from what little I've heard.
