Spend Spend Spend, The award winning West End musical based on the Book by Viv Nicholson, the Cover Star of 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' will be appearing at the Lyceum in Sheffield, West Yorkshire, England from Tuesday 16th November until Saturday 20th November.
Spend Spend Spend
charts the comedy, the tragedy and the love story that is the legend of
Viv Nicholson.
When the Castleford Couple Viv & Keith won the football pools in 1961 Viv told the Press she would spend, spend, spend. Her rags to riches and back to rags story, takes her through five husbands, fast cars, bankruptcy and booze.
This fabulous award-winning musical bombards the audience with a dazzling mixture of exuberance, despair, triumph and tragedy. the show follows Viv happily torn from her northern mining roots into the splendour of Garforth, New York and then well and truly back again.
Told in flashback by Viv from the salon where she worked, the story, follows her from being a rauncy, restless 16 year old through to the pools win and the tragic events that followed.
Based on Viv's original 1977 Biography.
This musical was seen at the West Yorkshire Playhouse where it won the Barclays Theatre Award for Best Musical 1998. It then went on to the West end stage.
