Now everyone can briefly calm themselves down, suck down a quick power drink, and wait for the next outlandish attack.
Need to get all fired up for the weekend about something I guess.

From your fellow, small-town Texans, in El Paso, we feel your pain.

Those capital letters look important, but I remain at a loss to understand the exact pathology of 'Strained Vocal Chords'. Is there a big nose physician, speech therapist, nurse etc on hand to educate if this is a classified disease please, and to set forth the symptom presentation? Just curious is all… And, while I would not wish Morrissey to be put through the following ordeal, for some, medicine can be hard to take…

How to give a cat a pill:

1) Pick cat up and cradle it in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth pop pill into mouth. Allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

2) Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind sofa. Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.

3) Retrieve cat from bedroom, and throw soggy pill away.

4) Take new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill to back of mouth with right fore-finger. Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.

5) Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of wardrobe. Call spouse from garden.

6) Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, hold front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get spouse to hold head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

7) Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill from foil wrap. Make note to buy new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully sweep shattered figurines and vases from hearth and set to one side for gluing later.

8) Wrap cat in large towel and get spouse to lie on cat with head just visible from below armpit. Put pill in end of drinking straw, force mouth open with pencil and blow down drinking straw.

9) Check label to make sure pill not harmful to humans, drink glass of water to take taste away Apply band-aid to spouse's forearm and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap.

10)Retrieve cat from neighbor's shed. Get another pill. Place cat in cupboard and close door onto neck to leave head showing. Force mouth open with dessert spoon. Flick pill down throat with elastic band.

11)Fetch screwdriver from garage and put cupboard door back on hinges. Apply cold compress to cheek and check records for date of last tetanus jab. Throw Tee-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom.

12) Ring fire brigade to retrieve cat from tree across the road. Apologize to neighbor who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid cat.

Please. Unlike some of the posters here and just like some of the others I am a singer. I can tell you that on some nights if we are playing newer songs or if the overall output level is too loud and I am straining to sing above it I can loose it after 4 or 5 songs. It's happened.Now remember, almost all musicians also sing 4 or 5 or more songs before a show just to warm up. I can completely understand how painful and just simply impossible it can be to try and sing once you blow out. I usually can't sing well for 1-2 days after. Rest the voice Morrissey.

Now that I've been stranded in Texas with no Moz shows to see for 3 days, I can tell you I don't like it here. I've had refried beans with lard in them 3 times despite assurances they were vegetarian--language barriers aside, I should have expected this in the land of cattle ranchers.

I can say I'm happy that I arrived in Dallas/Ft Worth JUST in time to hear the encore of that show (thank you very much, Northwest Airlines!--ok, I'm not really happy-but at least I got to hear one song as opposed to none), and I appreciate the Moz fans who politely moved out of my way so that I could take my row A seat even though I arrived late--thank you very much! While I'm really sad I spent all this money (I can't even muster the courage to add it all up, yet) to travel here for these 3 shows, I feel badly for all the Houston fans I met who were denied their only chance to see the man live--same goes for the few I've met here in Austin. I hope MOz is a gentleman and reschedules the shows once his voice is all better or the political uproar ends or whatever it is that caused the cancellation. I won't be able to make the trip again, but I'll catch him the next time he swings through the midwest.

Regardless, the fact that all the trucks and one of the buses were there in Houston and that they'd been unloaded and the crew was busy all morning loading everything back onto the trucks suggests to me Moz had planned to do the Houston show and that whatever the reason for the cancellation, it was a decision he made on the morning of that show. And I'm sure it was a decision he took seriously. And finally, considering how outspoken Morrissey is, don't you think he would have made a public statement regarding death threats if that were the reason for the cancellations. He's no shrinking violet, so sit tight and see what comes of it. Regardless, I still love you, Steven--even if I'm not so fond of Texas.
