Surely he must see the irony in that. He is doing exactly what SOME American politicians are being critisized for in the song.

it will never cease to amaze me how often morrissey's first name is misspelt. for pete's sake, he spells it himself in "ouija board, ouija board."

With a name like McManus you'd think the writer would have inherited some of his ancestors intrinsic wit. It must have fallen into the water on the boat over.

Gosh, that article really made morrissey look stupid, I mean the author with his patronizing sarcasm when he was taking the piss about the lameness of the lyrics and the fact that Moz calls America home...

the way the article turned out, especially since it was written by a journalist working in Texas. Talk about 'painting by numbers'. What a load of crap.

The article was as arrogant and immature as the author was trying to make Morrissey sound. It didn't work, especially when the guy had the nerve to call the Kerry person a traitor just because he made a comment concerning the importance of diplomacy. Umm... I don't know about any other American, but I happen to care how the US is viewed by other countries. We have to work with many of those countries, you know. And the whole thought of us having so many enemies makes me cringe... We only have three allies in the UN. THREE. No wonder we're seen as big, fat self-righteous pigs: it is because our government shuts everyone else out.

I emailed him and called him a twat, because he is.

I just emailed them Moz's election press statement. If you email them, in where you are to type "your name" type "Morrissey Rules". After you submit, it says "Thank you Morrissey Rules". Tee Hee

I read the article. I hope that the author owns a gun. Seeing that he is from Texas, I suppose that he does. Clearly he is an idiot. If you take an idiot and add a gun then there's bound to be an accident. I pray I never see his name in print again.

imean, it was stupid, and the guy has it all wrong, but it was funny at points. ihad to laugh aloud at the line sayin how "Morrissey wants America over a barrel with a Whopper crammed up its ass." that was fookin hilarious. the bit where he called the dude from the Kerry campaign a traitor was funny too- ridiculous, but funny. some people here, judging by some of the comments already posted, need to lighten up a bit. juste cos the guys an ass doesnt mean you cant laugh at it.

one thing idont get- this is the second article ive read in the past week or so thats descibed the early part of Morrissey's career, after 'Viva Hate', as being a string of weak albums. correct me if im wrong, but from '88 to '94 theres only one record that was really panned and thats 'Kill Uncle'. 'Vauxhall And I' was number one in the UK forchrissake! since when has 'Bona Drag', a compilation containg some of his most successful and celebrated singles, been regarded as weak? yes, Morrissey had his problems in the early to mid-90's with accusations of racism, but the music was always reviewed excellently despite that rubbish. Morrissey's only real "string" of ill-criticism regarding his music was during 'Southpaw Grammar' [undeservedly] and 'Maladjusted' [unfortuantely, fairly deserved] followed by years of nothing at all. these articles, the other from this months NME [ithink], make the 90's seem like a huge failure on the whole for Moz- this couldnt be further from the truth. as far as im concerned, the 90's saw the best album of Morrissey's career, including The Smiths' albums, in 'Vauxhall And I' and then another brilliant highlight not too far behind in 'Your Arsenal'. for me, '88-'94 matches '83-'87.

Obviously one fry short of a happy meal. Any journalist that would refer to Ann Coulter in a Morrissey article and calls Morrissey the son of Madonna and Michael Moore has taken one too many longhorns up the Angus... Obviously working for the Beef Industry in Texas.

Besides ignoring the rest of the lyrics (notice there's no musical commentary at all...just lyrical bashing), he ignores the rest of the album and fails to note "Irish Blood..."

At least Morrissey isn't going to waste his time in Texas.
