Channel 4's 'Music Hall of Fame' series continued on Sunday night with the ten contenders for the 1980's showcased.

Following on from first nominees, Guns N' Roses, The Smiths were built up very impressively.

30 singles? They released 17 (excluding the posthumous "TIALTNGO").

Suffer Little Children was not a single.

Hand in Glove (with Sandie Shaw)was released in 1984, not 1986, and is hardly essential.

How Soon Is Now? was released as a single in 1985, not 1984.

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now was released in 1984, not 1986.

Can I have my anorack, please?
