October 16, 2004 marks the *150th* anniversary of the birth of Oscar Wilde!

Press release for the musical by Miike Read which commemorates the anniversary; extended festivities will include a Q & A session with Wilde's grandson, Merlin Holland.

It's incredible how much Oscar Wilde looks like Stephen Fry.

Its closed after just one night due to poor attendances and even poorer reviews.

Mike Read previously did a musical about Cliff Richard and is not exactly known as an intellectual heavyweight. Surely Oscar`s memory deserves better than this.

To write one crappy musical could be deemed as a misfortune, to write two.... etc. etc. etc.
