The new, authorized Kirsty MacColl biography was launched at the Boogaloo in London on Thursday where the author Kate O'Brien read segments of the book.

For her compilation "Galore" Kirsty MacColl had friends provide quotes about her and Morrissey's contribution was read out:

"Kirsty is a voice gradually added to a body. She has great songs and a crackin' bust. She is a supreme original but not - as far as I know - one of the original Supremes. Everything shows in the voice. The best of the last of. Furthermore, a full set of teeth. What more? NOT cursed."

    That quote was written for the slevenotes of "Galore", the 'best of Kirsty MacColl' compillation.
    Lyrically, the woman was as close to a female Morrissey than anyone else I could name.
