The tour hasn't even started yet. Exhausted from what? The band spend 99% of their time either in the hotel or on the tour bus. They've been on stage for roughly 2.5 hours per week since the tour started. The band is provided with a gopher to do the normal boring stuff like picking up dry cleaning, getting food, etc. The band do not have to do much except be chauffered around and play their instruments.

I work over 40 hours per week. I'm f*%king exhausted.

My best wishes to Alain, but Boz should STOP LYING to us. Alain is not exhausted. Some one with enough balls should tell us the real story.

    The truth is out there!

Yes, t'was me. The problem is that what ever I say will be taken as rumour & innuendo. Why should anyone believe me? I just think that some official statement should be made.

Another thing to consider, perhaps the people that informed me could have been lying to cover up a worser truth. Who knows?I know a few facts, but obviously not the whole story. Maybe someone can fill in the pieces or correct me if I have anything wrong.

Here's what I know. Believe me or don't.

Alain, who seems to have had a limited mental capacity anyhow, snapped. Think "Girl Interrupted" "A Beautiful Mind" "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" "Mad Love" etc.

Had delusions of persecution, e.g. thought he was Jesus. Became extremely violent. Taken to a mental hospital where he was restrained to a bed under medical supervision 24/7. Diagonosed paranoid schizophrenic. Is heavily medicated now. His return is not imminent! Even October is optimistic.

It's not depression. It's not exhaustion.

I'm sure that this is all quite personal which is why it has stayed quite so far. Although I must say with emphasis that there is no shame in being mentally ill! As I said before I don't know the whole story. There is probably much more to it than what I know. So please don't take what I've said as the complete picture.

I think Alain is a great guitar player. I've been a Moz fan for over 20 years. Of course I wish him well. I just think an official statment should be made. Give us Moz fans some credit.

but it would be nice to get a straight answer regarding this whole alain fiasco. if he's gone batty, tell us. if he's been sacked, let us know. if he quit, make a statement. it's not the end of the world. if we can get over marr leaving, we can certainly get over alain's moving on.

I feel really sorry for Alain (Score:0)
He stuck with Moz thru the wilderness years. Took a hell of a lot of stick from the press. Sure he wrote a fair few duff songs (Roy's Keen, Dagenham Dave...) but he also wrote loads of absolute beauties (Sunny, Trouble loves me, Alma Mater, Swallon on my neck, Nobody loves us, Edges are no longer, etc).

And he's written some brilliant songs on Quarry (plus b-sides like Never-played Symphonies, Walk tall, My life is a series) and provided Moz with his finest single to date with First of the Gang. And now that Moz is finally flavour of the month and enjoying career-best sales and his highest ever profile, Alain should also be there, basking in the limelight.

Alain, if you're reading this, thanks for writing the music to so many of the fantastic 2004 songs and I really hope you get well soon and can enjoy the attention and acclaim that you richly deserve.
        We're really missing you.

        John.

Let's put the speculative beast to rest a bit with regards to Bernard Butler. I have no info about Alain, but with regards to Butler you can believe me or not, BUT - Moz DID meet with Bernard but Bernard said he was NOT up for collaborating with him. Bernard is concentrating on his work with Brett as Anderson/Butler. Moz is at present without a collaborator, but Butler will not be the one to fill Alain's shoes. Sorry guys.
