IBEH longest run on chart for Morrissey single since 1980s

John, England writes:

Irish Blood English Heart has notched up a 5th successive week on the UK chart (top 75). The longest run for any Morrissey single since 'The Last of the famous...' which also managed 5 weeks (Viva Hate singles managed 6).

Interestingly, if Quarry had come out last week, it would've got to number one. Faithless are currently at number one with 47,000 sales (Quarry sold around 75,000 in its first week).

Quarry is also credited with a Gold disc in this week's Music Week for the first time.

Where did you get that information on how many albums sold by chart-toppers (here, Faithless & Morrissey)? I've often been looking for that kind on information but never found out.

    Thanks!

It sells about as much, or as little, as Lenny Kravitz' Baptism. This is good or bad, depending on your general view.

is an infinitely better song then IBEH.

Probably three times the song on every level I can think of.

Probably better then any song on Quarry.

Did I mention that I like that song?
